Charles Watson Marine are delighted to be introducing Winner Yachts to the UK and Irish yachting scene. Winner Yachts were founded in Enkhuisen on the Ijselmeer in 1986 and have built an excellent local reputation for their very high quality Van de Stadt designed cruiser-racers. With all skills in house this Dutch yard produces top quality mouldings and excellent joinery, systems and fittings. The Van de Stadt designs are fast and comfortable without being extreme. They are very good looking , thoroughly seaworthy and capable of rapid passage times as well as rating respectably for club racing. The current range comprises four models from 9.5 metres to 12.20 metres long.
Winners are streamlined yachts of moderate beam with a favourable distribution in terms of displacement. The finely rounded bow lines transform to a broad flat underwater hull aft, thus giving little stern wave. The bulb keel and high aspect balanced rudder are a hydrodynamically sound combination for sailing close to the wind. The boats are easy to steer accurately in all conditions.
The 12.20, most recent model from Winner is a striking yacht offering a unique combination of speed and comfort. She is light and stiff with fully laminated hull-deck joint and bulkheads; and she has a high ballast ratio to ensure fast and comfortable sea miles. Her teak interior has been professionally designed by and for yachtsmen, with large berths, a spacious saloon and a large sea-going galley, making a short or long stay on board much more than a pleasant experience.
