Contest Yachts launch the first Motor Yacht
Contest announces motor boat: Contest 52MC For the first time in its 50-plus years of success, Contest Yachts is to build a motoryacht. The Contest 52MC was designed by the leading Dutch yard in cooperation with Georg Nissen. Engineering is by Vripack and the interior from the boards of Wetzels Brown Partners. The synthesis of these renowned names and Contest’s rich experience will ensure an impressive introduction to the seagoing motoryacht segment. Contest Yachts is renowned around the world for its top quality sailyachts, and has been meeting the wishes of sailing enthusiasts for more than half a century. In response to many requests to apply its knowledge to the motoryacht sector, the yard has now created a design that will appeal to former sailyacht owners and committed motoryacht fans alike. THE FIRST RM1260 WILL SOON BE AFLOAT............... and she is heading for SUCCESS This new 40 footer evoked incredible interest throughout Europe: 5 have already been sold and there are options on a further two. The ingredients for success : 1. A very seductive design, inspired by ocean racers and evoking speed and modernity. 2. A hull built in ply/epoxy, respecting the environment; and offering an excellent strength/weight ratio. 3. Amazing performance: RM’s are often cited as the fastest cruising boats. 4. TOFINOU BY S+ARCK
The fifth Tofinou 12, currently being built at the Latitude 46 boatyard, will be designed by Philippe Starck. The sketches will be available in October, with the Starck version Tofinou 12 unveiled at the Paris Boat Show in December 2010. "A Tofinou doesn't exist.
